With summer now a distant memory, it’s time to wrap up warm and enjoy the changing of the seasons during your stay by the riverside. Joining us soon for a getaway with your family or better half? We’ve put together some of our favourite things to see and do this autumn.

Seasonal colours

Autumn is a magical time of year to get outside and explore, with the leaves transitioning from bright green into beautiful hues of red and yellow, and the earlier sunsets painting breathtaking golden tones across the skies.
Captain’s Club recommends: One of our favourite places to visit in autumn is Kingston Lacy, where the garden and parkland bursts into beautiful shades of yellow, orange, and red.

Quieter surroundings

During October and November, our fantastic local beaches are quieter than in the peak of summer. This makes it the perfect time to grab your camera, head down to Bournemouth Beach and capture photos of the spectacular sunrise.

Captain’s Club recommends: On a crisp autumn morning, there’s nothing better than wrapping up warm and enjoying a stroll along the riverside, especially if your pooch has joined you on holiday.

Warm seas

If you’re a fan of watersports then be sure to pack your surfboard. Autumn is a popular time for riding the waves as the sea is still warm from the summer months and the beaches are a little quieter.

Captain’s Club recommends: Keeping it local, Bournemouth Beach is ideal for surfers eager to put their skills to the test.

Delicious dining

Whether you’re joining us for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, find a seat and make yourself at home – you can rest assured that a delicious meal awaits.

Captain’s Club recommends: One of our favourite dishes to get stuck into is a delicious classic; fish and chips. Best enjoyed with your nearest and dearest.

Discover the unique beauty of autumn on the South Coast yourself, book a stay with us and get ready to relax and unwind in style.
