Recent events have meant staying in is most definitely the new going out. And while you may not be able to nip out for an evening of cocktails and nibbles, there’s no reason why you can’t mix up your favourite tipples at home.
We’ve reimagined some of our Club Classics so they can be easily created using store cupboard ingredients.
You will need:
- A cocktail shaker (if you don’t have one of these at home, you can always use a reusable takeaway coffee cup or a mason jar and a sieve)
- Plenty of ice
- Chopping board and knife
- Lemon squeezer
- Blender
You’ve Been Mangoed
This fabulously fruity cocktail is one of our favourites and is made using vodka, fresh raspberries, mango, and lemon juice.
For one serving:
- 35ml vodka
- 1 mango
- A handful of fresh raspberries
- Squeeze of lemon
- Peel the mango and roughly chop the fruit. Blend to a pulp using a blender before passing it through a sieve so the consistency is nice and smooth.
- Add the mango mixture to your cocktail shaker along with a handful of ice, 50ml of vodka, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
- Give everything a good shake before straining into a glass.
- Top with the fresh raspberries and serve.
Caught in a Jam
Perfect for gin lovers, this zesty, floral cocktail combines gin with elderflower cordial, strawberry jam, and cranberry juice.
For one serving:
- 35ml gin (our favourite is Tanqueray 10, but any classic gin will do)
- Dash of elderflower cordial
- 1 tbsp strawberry jam
- 250ml cranberry juice
- Squeeze of lime
- Shake together the gin, elderflower cordial, lime juice and a handful of ice.
- Pour over a glass with ice.
- Top up with cranberry juice and serve.
Club White Sangria
This wonderfully refreshing sharing cocktail combines white wine with gin, elderflower, and lemonade.
For two servings:
- 250ml of Sauvignon Blanc
- 50ml gin
- Dash of elderflower cordial
- Lemonade
- Fresh fruit, i.e. strawberries, raspberries, orange, apple
- Pour the gin and elderflower into a jug and add plenty of ice.
- Stir in the Sauvignon Blanc before adding the fresh fruit.
- Top up with lemonade and serve.
