It is very important to a lot of couples these days to have the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception in the same venue to cut down the amount of travel for their guests, however, some couples choose to get married in their local church or another venue which gives them the opportunity to arrive in style at the hotel either by road or by water.
Gemma & Oli
Gemma and Oli were married at their local church and chose to arrive at the Captain’s Club by boat, they were picked up at Christchurch Quay and headed off for some photos before mooring up outside of the hotel. All their guests arrived on a vintage red bus and I’m sure they had plenty of fun on the way!
Stunning flowers by Parkwood and a beautiful cake by Vanilla Pink (both pictured below) were all set up in the Waterside Suite ready for their arrival. After enjoying drinks and canapes on the terrace, guests were treated to a 3 course wedding breakfast and then of course there were the speeches! The evening celebration included our house DJ and some spectacular fireworks.
Suzie & Tom
Suzie and Tom opted for a striking look for their ceremony with flowers by The Wild Fox with a beautiful sequin backdrop from Wedding by Design. Guests arrived for the ceremony which was beautifully conducted by Diana from Grace the Day, following the ceremony there was a champagne and canape reception on the terrace before guests headed off on vintage ferries before arriving back for an exclusive use evening reception with a live band, gin bar and stunning dessert station!
Clare & Duncan
Clare and Duncan booked their wedding at our January open day and got married 7 months later; a gorgeous mint green colour theme worked beautifully for their wedding day. They booked our Oyster package which meant we took a lot of the pressure and stress away from them during the planning stages so they could simply enjoy their day. They had the whole day with us including the ceremony. Clare stayed the night before and got ready at the hotel with our spa girls doing her makeup and Hayley from Elite came to us to do her hair.
The next happy couple
The aim at the Captain’s Club is to make sure that the wedding planning is as stress-free as possible which is why we include as much as we can such as wedding stationary, allocation towards your flowers, wedding insurance and DJ in our Oyster Package, this works particularly well if couples don’t live in the local area as we do much of the planning and booking of suppliers for you. We also have a fabulous little black book of suppliers that we can recommend to you, all of them are the best in the business and have worked with us on many weddings.
If you are looking for a unique venue which is privately owned and goes above and beyond to ensure that your wedding day is perfect, then please get in touch with me to discuss your requirements in more detail on cheryl@captainsclubhotel.com.
I look forward to hearing from you,
